E7014 Welding Rod

E7014 is an Iron Powder, Titania base stick welding electrode used for welding of mild steel, carbon steel and low alloy steel welding.

E7014 welding rod is similar to E7024 welding rod however it can be used in all welding positions while E7024 can only be used for flat & horizontal welding positions.

Their coating is similar to E6012 and E6013 rods but with added iron powder for higher welding deposition efficiency with higher welding amperage.

This rod is not for radiographic soundness weld. The weld rod is mainly used for fillet welding and structure welding works.

E7014 Welding Rod Uses

E7014 welding rod is a low penetration, high deposition electrode. It is useful for making large fillet welds. E7014 has a good tolerance to poor fit-up and misalignment.

It is often used for heavy section welding, repair, and maintenance.

The electrode can also be used for high weld deposition and low penetration, making it ideal for large roots.

E7014 welding electrode is easy to use, good arc characteristics, easy ignition and self-detachable welding slag.

E7014 Welding Positions

The E7014 welding position is a versatile electrode that can be used in all positions.

It is especially well suited for welding in the horizontal, flat and overhead positions.

The E7014 has a smooth arc with little spatter and provides good weld penetration.

E7014 Welding Polarity

E7014 welding rod can be used with AC, DCEN (Straight polarity) and DCEP (Reverse polarity).

It is a versatile welding rod that can run well with AC Welders as well as DC Welders.

E7014 Welding Rod Amperage Setting Chart

E7014 Welding Rod Amperage Setting are:

Diameter (mm)Amperage (A)
2.550-90
3.270-130
4.0100-180
5.0150-230

Welding amperage for 7014 rod depends on the electrode diameter, welding position, and material thickness.

E7014 Welding Electrode Features

E7014 welding electrode is a type of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) electrode that is primarily used for welding low carbon steel and some low alloy steels.

It is known for its good bead appearance and easy slag removal. The electrode is coated with a flux that provides shielding from the atmosphere and also helps in the formation of the weld bead profile.
